Film processing adheres to film manufacturer specifications, using strict quality control measures. Our chemistry is kept fresh at all times, with constant control strip and densitometry testing.
Our proof scans will provide you files that are workable and intended for further editing to your liking. During scanning we aim to reduce colour casting, dust and other digital artifacts. Proof roll scans are produced by our Noritsu HS-1800 roll scanner.
The most cost-effective way for processing and printing your images. Using our traditional C-Type printer, we can provide a set of standard small prints that are great for layouts, proofing or albums, with the option to add more scans or larger prints. Choose between two paper types — Gloss or Lustre.
Our proof scanning services provide you with files that are workable for your desired end result. We maintain a fairly neutral scan that you can then make further edits to your liking.
We also offer a ‘Per Frame Finished Scan’ service where our technicians will spend more time on your files. We will correct colour, density and remove any visible dust or digital artifacts, giving you image files that are ready for print or editorial purposes.
Our main scanner for small format output is our Noritsu HS-1800 and for anything larger we will recommended our top of the line Hasselblad Flextight X5.
Our Hasselblad X5 scanner is a brand new scanner since July 2018. Serviced on a regular basis and only handled by our trained technicans.
Being one of the highest quality film scanners available, we will provide you with the highest resolution output possible for your format. We have two options of PROOF (raw untouched file) and FINISHED (We will spot dust, colour correct and create a print ready file).
We output our X5 scan files in an AdobeRGB (1998) colour space by default. If requested, we will provide a Prophoto RGB file.
We will scan a reflective image up to a maximum size of A3. We will use a flatbed scanner or copy stand depending on the image size that you want copied.
Proof scanning is kept to the original as much possible. This does not include dusting or other retouching.
Finished scanning will include colour correction, dusting, spot healing and repairing if needed. Ready for print output.
With our Noritsu RA-4 printer we produce true photographic prints. Using a laser to expose the paper emulsion, then processed chemically, we produce longer life prints with rich colours and deep blacks.
Our print studio has been designed specifically to produce archival, gallery quality prints with Epson HDX ink sets and colour-accurate viewing environments. Our technicians work closely with each image to optimise the best print quality output. Custom sizing available, enquire with our staff.
To assist in mitigating any variances with printing on inkjet materials, we offer a test print service. Our technician will create an A4 + 100% crop print of your image. With this, we are then able to see what the print will look like at a larger size. If you decide to order the larger print at the time of testing, we will take 50% off the testing cost.
